  1. ATM’s in Thailand hacked; 12 Million Baht stolen; 10,000ATM’s prone to hacker

An Eastern European gang of criminals has stolen over 12 Million Baht (approximately US$350,000) from a total of 21 ATMs in Bangkok and other location in Thailand, by hacking bank’s ATM network. The Central Bank of Thailand (BoT) has issued a warning to all commercial banks about security flaws in roughly 10,000 ATMs that were exploited to steal cash from the machines.Hacker used cards with malware, after successful installation of malware hacker able to spew out cash. GSB President Chartchai Payuhanaveechai told that, customer are not affected with this malware which, only used for attack on ATM’s.

Cyber Security Tips: ATM security is an important issue today, hackers are now targeting ATM’s. To prevent from such ATM hack need to improve security at ATM. Protect ATM’s with security policies like strong authorization, physical security, prevent external drives.

  1. Cisco exploit leaked in NSA hack modifies to target latest version of firewall

Recently released NSA exploit from “The Shadow Brokers” leak that affects older versions of Cisco System firewalls can work against newer models as well. Dubbed ExtraBacon, the exploit was restricted to versions 8.4. (4) And earlier versions of Cisco’s Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) – a line of firewalls designed to protect corporate, government networks and data centers. In NSA hack lots of tools and, exploits are leaked. Both Cisco and Fortinet have confirmed their firewalls are affected by exploits listed in the Shadow Brokers.

Cyber Security Tips:  Cisco user has to take care about this kind of attack until company release solution. Cisco user need to improve their security with security product, filter the upcoming requests.

  1. Ghostbusters’ Actress and Comedian Leslie Jones’ Website Hacked

Leslie Jones, the “Ghostbusters” actress and comedian’s website was hacked on Wednesday and the nude photos and personal information including her passport and driving license were posted on that. Hacking said it appeared the website was accessed through Jones personal cell phone or iCloud account, which lets users store photos and other content online and access it from any Apple device. Hacker had finagled their way into Jones’s iCloud account released her photos, including some nude shots, as well as personal information: photos of her passport and driver’s license, her phone number, and her Twitter password.

Cyber Security Tips:  If you are accessing a website through your mobile or other account then secure it with strong security methods, use strong passwords and use different passwords for different account.

  1. Cybercriminals use ‘moles’ to attack telecom providers

NEW DELHI: Cybercriminals are using insiders to gain access to telecommunications networks and subscriber data, recruiting disaffected employees through underground channels or blackmailing staff using compromising information gathered from open sources – according to a Kaspersky Lab intelligence report. Telecommunications providers are a top target for cyber-attack. They operate and manage the world’s networks, voice and data transmissions and store vast amounts of sensitive data. According to report 38% of attacks are happening due to malicious actives by insiders.

Cyber Security Tips:  To prevent from insider thread organization need to educate their staff about cyber-security, cyber security policies, use security services, restrict access for sensitive information.
