India’s Digital Economy to soon hit $1 Trillion

With the growing usage of internet technologies, India is moving towards becoming a trillion dollar digital economy.

Indian users are consuming an average of 4 GB of data per month. New smartphone users often start with services like email and regional language content. The data suggests that India will have 600 million smartphone users consuming internet services within next five to seven years!

The country has become an important market for tech leaders like Google. As the internet user base grows in India, every related vertical is getting more mature. The continuous user growth story will help India have a mature internet user base. The fourth largest category in India will be online news, which will have a reach of 280 million by 2020.
